Moes Haven: Lyrics/Clips/MP3s
Sleison's a Boxer
(Moes Haven)
Sleison's a boxer
He's training every day
This isn't any fluke this time
He's been doing it since May
He trains in a gym in Dorchester everyday right after work
Yes, it's Sleison and a bunch of inner-city teens learning how to box each day after work
And he didn't tell anybody
That he fought three rounds about a month ago
He waited 'till after he won the decision
Before he told anybody so
And me, I don't blame him much
I won't want anybody seeing take a risk like that
And some people probably roll their eyes
And say, "Why's he doing that?
"It's not like he'll ever be a Sugar Ray or anybody else like that"
But they don't seem to get the point
And they're all doing nothing with their lives
Yeah, Sleison's a boxer
He gets up each morning just to run
People say, "What's he doing that for?
"It can't be any fun."
But they don't know about anything they haven't seen in a TV show
And they hate to see ambition
Coming out of anybody that they know
They're mad if you do anything that's out of the status quo
They can't wait for Sleison to get himself hurt
So they can say, "See, I told you so."
But, me, I see it different
And I say, "Go, go Sleison go!"
