Moes Haven: Lyrics/Clips/MP3s

The Last Noel

(Moes Haven)
The last noel
The sky opened
And candlewax poured out
Burning the eyes of the believers
Salesmen refused to buy their own products
Actors ran, screaming in the streets
Sucking their thumbs and crying for mother
Grand Canyon philanthropists put the finishing touches on the pneumonia ceilings
The locusts ate into my brain

I learned the Noah and my father were one
And all the communists wept
Drinking vodka and rainwater
The doors of the Soviet prison were thrown wide
Prisoners and potatoes spewed everywhere
Bushy-haired youths went on desperate searches for pens
Reasonable solutions went unheeded
Lightning continued to strike the mainland
And god echoed the refrain

Vile and disgusting things happened to good people
Trees began to dance the jig
And alone, atop a hill, Kevin McDonnell laughed

The men and women
Of the towns and the cities
Raised a cry against the cruel earth
The cruel sky
The cruel god
The fire leapt from the aerosol cans
And the environmentalists applauded their enterprise
Uncle Tony and Annika fought desperately for last place

Dark waters rushed to drown the ignorant
Millions of mindless fools watched it all on TV

And I
The lone poet
Finally had an epiphany
I came to the realization
That I have wasted my life
