Matt~ I just got you CD from Tom the other day...and I think you should send him another one because there is NO WAY I am letting him take it back. Our 3yr old rocks out to it in the back seat and sings "Rattle Trap". I also let some of my clients listen to it and they all want to download it onto their IPods....sorry guys go buy your own copy of the album. You rock and are MORE than welcome to come rock our back yard in Maine ANYTIME :) Much love, Angela

Farley, I was trying to find the lyrics to Black Lake and was disappointed to find that they weren't on the site! Tom is having a hard time remembering that first verse. We're in Brazil, you should expect a postcard submission for the newsletter.

Matty: Checked out that UTUBE video of "Why Can't We All Just Get Along" (url below). You're adorable and dishy, lovable and charming. Can't wait to see where this all takes you. You'll be a screaming success (even more than now of course) - no doubt in my mind! It made me smile...

I am sold...Moe's Haven has changed my life. I feel so connected with so many of the songs. Do you plan to release any of your film works such as "Seeking Freedom" or "Paperboy"? You continue to amaze and impress...I'll camp out till 2012 if I need to get first crack at the next album. Keep propagating your genius work...

Hi Guys! Congrats on finishing your 2006 project and continued original marketing efforts. Matt--thanks for your invite. I smile when I see your return address on a letter in my mailbox because I KNOW it is going to be fun. Are you guys playing any shows soon, or at all? I would like to meet you guys because I put on an annual basement show in the summer, and your performance would make an amazing Tim's Basement Show 4. Oh yea, the basement is unfinished, has a giant rock, and the ceilings are like 5 feet high. Lemme know if you're interested!

Howdy.

I'm a friend of Michael Kemp's and someone who was with him bought your Someone Else CD and "forced" me to listen. Okay, it wasn't forced, just persuasively done in a manner bordering on assault. Anyway, I've listened to this CD more than three times and I really can't stop listening to it. As a matter of fact, it's on perpetual repeat, 24 hours a day. I go to sleep and wake up to this CD. It's fucking great! I'm not even sick of it, yet.

And your asking for suggestions? Okay, here's a suggestion: stop asking for suggestions. There's nothing you really need to change, add, edit, sucker punch, or bludgeon to this CD. I'm hooked. After I hold up this bank, next week, I'm going to buy some of your CDs and force my fellow Country & Western workmates into the good stuff. If nothing else, they might commit suicide and make my life just that much more easier.

Seriously, very good album. I'm looking forward to some of your other stuff.

great experiment, its like the people who take a picture of themselves once a day for a year except you take a snapshot of whatever might be wandering around in your mind each day of the year. at the very least you guys should go into the guinness book of world records. or at the very very least you guys should go drink a guinness. i do have a song idea for you... you could write about the night my brother introduced me to the "belfast carbomb" if only i could remember that night.

'Red Lights on River Road' is the best. I drive by those houses everyday and see those lights. I have always wondered about them. I would have never imagined that another person would share my exact feelings, let alone express them so eloquently in a song. Nice work! I am inspired.

I'm having a bad day - it's my birthday, I have no cake, no one has called, my husband lost his job today....so...I suggest you write about my rat named "Flea", who is alltogether too fond of...ahem..."pleasuring" himself.

Respectfully yours,

June 2, 2006

you guys should make a song about a duck that has to wear spectacles or maybe one about a beach ball

I think you should write a song about two friends, catching up on old times in a nice quiet diner, and then someone comes along with a drill the size of a small tree and proceeds to shatter the peace of all within a 5 block radius.

Hey, I drink wine all the time too! ...and I dance with monkeys.
But anyway, I got you CD sometime in July (I also procrastinate), and I finally got around to popping it into the ol' CD player thingy and cool tunes came out!
Thanks for sending it my way. In a few weeks I'll update the Almost Normal Comics website and post a listing for "Introducing Moes Haven"

p.s. if you talk to Hillary Duff again tell her my comics better be in the deleted scenes on her "The Perfect Man" DVD.

Hi Guys,

I received your CD. How you found me is anyone's guess. Anyway, I heard. I listened and I acquired the Moeshaven spirit. :)

Interesting stuff, as a songwriter, poet, sometime drummer, and burgeoning guitarist. You give me hope that the creative spirit is alive and well. Thanks!
And good spinning.

How did you get my address? I would have written sooner, but I've been hiding down in my bomb shelter that I just dug after receiving "Introducing Moes Haven" in the mail. Don't pretend this isn't a vast right-or-left wing conspiracy (As if there was a difference), its obvious you've already written a song about me, "Arizona's Flat".

Thanks (I think?!?) for the CD - I was a bit freaked out receiving mail from someone I've never met. Didn't really care too much for your music but it did make me smile briefly. And hey, it was better than getting a bill in the mail. Good luck guys!

I am in Jackson, MS and I was so glad you sent me a cd in the mail. It was something fresh, new and exciting. Would love to see about you guys coming to Mississippi to do a show. Let me know what about your fees, availability and the like. I am the host of a radio and television show in Jackson, so we can schedule interviews as well.
Talk to you soon.

I'm glad the post office was able to track me down, third state in less than two years...

I really wanted to thank you for the free entertainment. Not much of that available today. I will happily share it with others.

Not to get too involved but I am also a songwriter with over 100 finished tunes under my belt. Most of my gigs are on the streets, raw and straightforward. That's what was so refreshing about your music. In my book no song is a bad song if it's from the heart. Who knows, if I can scrape the money together I might even buy one of your albums. By-the-way: kudos to your biogropher. It is a fascinating saga and I couldn't put it down! Keep on rockin!

A neat if not-so-subtle viral marketing ploy, though I can't figure out how I got on your mailing list — does your target audience really include married 30-something college profs with kids and a mortgage? I'm flattered that, for whatever reason, you thought I "seemed interesting," but you might want to refine the recipient selection process.

As for the album itself, I tried, truly tried, to like it — listened to it all the way through twice in succession — but failed in the effort. I found some of the tracks mildly amusing — "Papaphobia," "Moppin' Concrete in Early May," "Arizona's Flat" — but in general I found little to recommend the album. The songs are rather simply written (perhaps a result of focusing too much on quantity and not enough on quality?), the performances were barely up to garage band standards, and the production value was abysmal. (If you're looking for a career in music, you'd be wise to hire a competent sound engineer.) That said, I am a veritable old fart when it comes to music, so feel free to ignore my criticism.

Good luck,
Jason A. Pierce

P.S. I've passed your album on to one of my students — perhaps she'll have something to add....

Got the album... this is the first time anything like this has happened to me. Believe me when I say that I am impressed by the gesture.

I did a full and unbiased review of the album on my web site: http://www.chrisspagani.com/blog.html -- you should read it when you have the chance.

I'd love to do an album cover for you some time. Send photos. :)

Thanks again.

Hi Guys,

What an honor to be the inspiration for one of your songs. I feel like I finally hit the big time listening to the song you wrote for me/about me!

I can now sing along and it really does make me smile everytime I hear it. (It's no wonder you had the tune repeating over and over in your head.)

Lots of love and luck to you...and I'll see you when we all hit the big time!

I got the CD, which freaked me out a little, but I found kinda funny in the end. The music is simple which is cool, but a few songs the volcals are about a half-note flat. I'm sure with proper recording that could be fixed. Otherwise you kind of remind me of The Arrogant Worms. Rock on.

March 23, 2005

Got your CD in the mail the other day. The insert was hil-ar-i-ous. Although I must say that this isn't the kind of music I usually listen to; it's still great humor. I like Hard Rock and Metal, you know, anger stuff. But what a great way to get yourself known...send CDs to people you don't know! Hey, what's your target market anyway??? Keep up the great comedy guys. (You don't really know Hilary Duff, do you?)

Thanks for the CD! I think it is great that you are doing everything in your power to promote yourselves. The CD was excellent and I ordered other ones to see if your style was truly another one I was looking for. Being a writer, I love to experiment.:) Good luck with everything and I'll let you know what I think of the others when I receive them. I'm happy to say I know talent when I hear it, if one opinion counts to you. Keep it up!

I received your CD in the mail today and am listening to it now.
I love the music on track 8, actually I have enjoyed quiet a few songs.

You seem to have a wide range, and what a creative idea for getting heard!!
I LOVE it!! Imagine giving people a choice, not the DJ'S, or the big wigs in the industry getting to decide who is "good" or who is not.
Well, now I know how you found my address! *Smile* This guest book looks like an AD Family Reunion!!
Thanks for the CD!! I am sending it onto my son (Who has the software to make copies! maybe he'll make one for me!)
